Append Selected Tables

Stacks several tables or ranges that you pick, even from different sheets, into one combined table. It checks that the columns line up first. The result goes to a cell you pick, nothing is overwritten without asking, and you can undo. Everything runs inside Excel.

In short
Append Selected Tables turns the tables that share a column layout into one combined list. The header row is written once and records are stacked in table order. The source tables are read and none of them is modified. The output is a static copy; rerun the append to pick up rows added to the sources later.

What it is for

Append Selected Tables is used to stack several picked ranges/tables into one output table.

When to use it

Used to fold same-layout region or period tables into a single list, or to merge scattered records before reporting.

Example scenarios

  • Combine same-structure tables from different sheets.

What it needs

≥2 range picks (add/continue/cancel loop) + output cell; single-cell/duplicate picks re-prompt; overlap refused, overwrite confirm. Supported data types: text, number, date (by selection).

How to use it

  1. Check that the tables to combine have matching column layouts.
  2. Open Append Selected Tables from the Combine and Get group on the XLMind Plus tab.
  3. Mark the tables to include and set the output location.
  4. Confirm; a single-header combined list is created and the source tables stay put.

What it produces

One combined table.

Effect on your data and undo

Append Selected Tables does not change your source data; the result is added as a separate item. Undo Last rolls the change back in a single step.

How it differs from similar tools

It works without formulas and never touches the source range; the result is produced separately, so the original table keeps its formulas intact.

Good to know

Overwrite confirmation; confirmation for large operations. Single cell only; size limits (≥2 range picks (add/continue/cancel loop).

Limitations

Single cell only; size limits.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the output written?
One combined table.
What happens to invalid or unexpected values?
Column-structure mismatch → nothing written + named source.
Does the result stay linked to the source?
The result is a snapshot of the data at run time; after bigger edits, run the tool again for a current view.
Any known limits?
Single cell only; size limits (≥2 range picks (add/continue/cancel loop).
