Mini Columns

A value with a mini column chart.

In short
A value with a mini column chart. You pick the template from the gallery and map its fields to your cells; the visual stays bound to the data, updates when it changes, and remains freely editable. The source table is untouched.

What it shows

Shows a value with mini columns (a small trend) on the right.

When to use it

It earns its place whenever you have to showing a KPI with a mini column trend of recent periods.

Example scenarios

  • Showing a KPI with a mini column trend of recent periods.
  • Managers: shows a value with mini columns (a small trend) on the right.

What it needs

Bound cells or ranges (value, target, comparison, trend as the template needs). Supported data types: cells or ranges (live-bound).

How to use it

  1. Select the data range or table you want to visualize.
  2. Open the KPI Cards (Visualizations menu) gallery from the XLMind Plus tab.
  3. Pick the Mini Columns template and map its fields to your cells.
  4. The visual is inserted bound to your data; it refreshes as the cells change.

What it produces

A live SVG KPI card (auto-refresh and edit).

Effect on your data and undo

Mini Columns does not change your source data; the result is added as a separate item. It refreshes automatically when the linked cells change. If it is not what you wanted, Undo Last restores the previous state.

How it differs from similar tools

The card is bound to your cells: change the value and the card refreshes, and it stays freely editable as a shape. No formulas or macros to maintain.

Good to know

Auto-refreshes when a bound cell changes. Binds to one or more live cells.

Limitations

Binds to one or more live cells.

Does it refresh when the data changes?
Yes. The visual is bound to your cells and updates as the linked values change.
Is anything written into my data?
No. The source cells are read only; the single addition is the visual.
Can I move to a different template?
