Value and Sparkline

A value with a trend sparkline.

In short
A value with a trend sparkline. Select your data, pick the template and map the fields; the result is an editable, data-bound visual that refreshes as your cells change. Nothing in the source is modified.

What it shows

Shows a value with a small sparkline of the last few points.

When to use it

Most useful when you need to showing weekly sales alongside a small trend of recent weeks.

Example scenarios

  • Showing weekly sales alongside a small trend of recent weeks.
  • Managers: shows a value with a small sparkline of the last few points.

What it needs

Bound cells or ranges (value, target, comparison, trend as the template needs). Supported data types: cells or ranges (live-bound).

How to use it

  1. Select the data range or table you want to visualize.
  2. Open the KPI Cards (Visualizations menu) gallery from the XLMind Plus tab.
  3. Pick the Value and Sparkline template and map its fields to your cells.
  4. The visual is inserted bound to your data; it refreshes as the cells change.

What it produces

A live SVG KPI card (auto-refresh and edit).

Effect on your data and undo

Value and Sparkline does not change your source data; the result is added as a separate item. It refreshes automatically when the linked cells change. One click on Undo Last brings everything back.

How it differs from similar tools

The card is bound to your cells: change the value and the card refreshes, and it stays freely editable as a shape. No formulas or macros to maintain.

Good to know

Auto-refreshes when a bound cell changes. Binds to one or more live cells.

Limitations

Binds to one or more live cells.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the resulting visual?
Yes. It is made of ordinary Excel objects, so colors, text and size are all freely adjustable.
Is the result live?
Yes. It works off your data, so when the source cells change, so does the visual.
Will my table change?
No. Your data stays exactly as it is; only the visual is added to the sheet.
Can I try another look on the same data?
Yes. Just reopen the gallery and pick a different template; the earlier visual remains on the sheet.
