Before vs After Arrow

The change from before to after.

In short
The change from before to after. Select your data, pick the template and map the fields; the result is an editable, data-bound visual that refreshes as your cells change. Nothing in the source is modified.

What it shows

Shows the change between two values as an arrow from before to after, emphasising the difference.

When to use it

Most useful when you need to presenting one metric before and after an improvement in a striking way.

Example scenarios

  • Presenting one metric before and after an improvement in a striking way.
  • Analysts: shows the change between two values as an arrow from before to after, emphasising the difference.

What it needs

One column with the before values and one with the after values.

How to use it

  1. Select the data range or table you want to visualize.
  2. Open the Charts (Visualizations menu) gallery from the XLMind Plus tab.
  3. Pick the Before vs After Arrow template and map its fields to your cells.
  4. The visual is inserted bound to your data; it refreshes as the cells change.

What it produces

A live SVG chart shape (auto-refresh and edit).

Effect on your data and undo

Before vs After Arrow does not change your source data; the result is added as a separate item. It refreshes automatically when the linked cells change. Undo Last reverses it whenever you need.

How it differs from similar tools

No workaround chart plumbing is needed: the template binds to your cells in one step and the visual keeps up with the data.

Good to know

Bindings must match the chart's expected shape; auto-refreshes on source change. Requires the listed data fields (before, after (Cell)).

Limitations

Requires the listed data fields (before, after (Cell)).

Frequently asked questions

Can I restyle the result by hand?
Yes. The visual is built from plain Excel objects; recolor, resize and rewrite it as you like.
What happens when I update the cells?
The visual watches the cells it is bound to; change the values and the view redraws itself.
Will my table change?
No. Your data stays exactly as it is; only the visual is added to the sheet.
Can I move to a different template?
Yes; open the gallery again and build a new template on the same data. The old visual stays until you remove it.
