- In short
- Produces a data quality report summarising a data set's quality (no custom slots). You pick the template from the gallery and map its fields to your cells; the visual stays bound to the data, updates when it changes, and remains freely editable. The source table is untouched.
When to use it
It earns its place whenever you have to reporting a data set's quality before cleaning.
Example scenarios
- Reporting a data set's quality before cleaning.
- Managers: produces a data quality report summarising a data set's quality (no custom slots).
What it needs
A source table (domain-aware auto-mapping and a confirm screen).
How to use it
- Select the data range or table you want to visualize.
- Open the Create Report gallery from the XLMind Plus tab.
- Pick the Data Quality template and map its fields to your cells.
- The visual is inserted bound to your data; it refreshes as the cells change.
What it produces
A new report sheet (native cells and charts).
Effect on your data and undo
Data Quality does not change your source data; the result is added as a separate item. It refreshes automatically when the linked cells change. Undo Last rolls the change back in a single step.
How it differs from similar tools
Instead of designing from scratch, it lays down a ready, data-bound layout; the resulting sheet is ordinary Excel objects, so everything stays editable.
Good to know
Regenerate after the source changes. Requires a source table.
Limitations
Requires a source table.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I restyle the result by hand?
- Yes. The visual is built from plain Excel objects; recolor, resize and rewrite it as you like.
- Is the result live?
- Yes. It works off your data, so when the source cells change, so does the visual.
- Is anything written into my data?
- No. The source cells are read only; the single addition is the visual.
- Can I move to a different template?
- Yes; open the gallery again and build a new template on the same data. The old visual stays until you remove it.
