Correlation Matrix

A pairwise correlation heatmap.

In short
A pairwise correlation heatmap. Select your data, pick the template and map the fields; the result is an editable, data-bound visual that refreshes as your cells change. Nothing in the source is modified.

What it shows

Shows pairwise correlations of numeric columns in a heatmap, revealing which variables move together.

When to use it

It earns its place whenever you have to seeing how measures such as price, quantity, returns and satisfaction relate to each other.

Example scenarios

  • Seeing how measures such as price, quantity, returns and satisfaction relate to each other.
  • Analysts: shows pairwise correlations of numeric columns in a heatmap, revealing which variables move together.

What it needs

One column with the source table.

How to use it

  1. Select the data range or table you want to visualize.
  2. Open the Charts (Visualizations menu) gallery from the XLMind Plus tab.
  3. Pick the Correlation Matrix template and map its fields to your cells.
  4. The visual is inserted bound to your data; it refreshes as the cells change.

What it produces

A live SVG chart shape (auto-refresh and edit).

Effect on your data and undo

Correlation Matrix does not change your source data; the result is added as a separate item. It refreshes automatically when the linked cells change. Undo Last rolls the change back in a single step.

How it differs from similar tools

No workaround chart plumbing is needed: the template binds to your cells in one step and the visual keeps up with the data.

Good to know

Bindings must match the chart's expected shape; auto-refreshes on source change. Requires the listed data fields (table (Matrix incl. header row)).

Limitations

Requires the listed data fields (table (Matrix incl. header row)).

Frequently asked questions

Can I restyle the result by hand?
Yes. The visual is built from plain Excel objects; recolor, resize and rewrite it as you like.
Does it refresh when the data changes?
Yes. The visual is bound to your cells and updates as the linked values change.
Is my source table modified?
No. The tool only reads your data; the only addition to the sheet is the visual itself.
Can I move to a different template?
Yes; open the gallery again and build a new template on the same data. The old visual stays until you remove it.
